Since Boris became Mayor in 2008:
Boris and his team have delivered an extra 96 police officers, 34 PCSOs and 44 Special Constables in Southwark so that we can feel safer in our local community.
London is the engine room of the UK’s economy and over the last three years Boris has consistently fought to create the most competitive environment for London, its industry, its businesses and its people.
Wherever Boris goes he bangs the drum loud and proud for investment in the capital. And because we export up to £16 billion in taxes to the rest of the country every year, Boris unashamedly fights for a fairer deal for London, and also to protect our economy from ill-thought out regulation.
Since becoming Mayor in 2008 Boris has:

Robberies are down 20%
Youth crime is down 15%
The murder rate has fallen by over a quarter and is now at its lowest level since 1978

He has Secured a £23million investment to help small businesses survive through easier access to loans, advice and City Hall contracts

Boris and his team have delivered two cycling superhighways, one of which runs through Southwark to the City,
Integrated London’s promotional agencies - Think London, Study London and Visit London - saving money and ensuring the capital gets more bang for its international buck. Boris' “Only in London” campaign cost £2million, but generated nearly £100million for the London economy.
