I have to admit that the LibDems inherited a great deal of the shame from Labour's administrations, but to still have such an appalling record should be a crime.
We all know making major improvements over the short term is extremely difficult, but measurable improvements should be visible over a longer term, and the LibDems have had that long term.
Is it an easy task? Of course not. But can positive changes be made? Of course they can.
I would work hard with other stakeholders to ensure innovative, measurable and transparent ideas are implemented to bring change.

The Communities and Local Government Department releases many interesting analysis documents. One of these is the Child Well-being Index. The latest results ( 2009) demonstrate how Southwark’s
treatment of the children is disgraceful.
Southwark's Rank out of all 354 Lower Authority Districts in the UK can be seen below. Rank 1 is the best, rank 354 is the worst.
If we accept this catastrophic failure and allow Southwark's Liberal Democrats to remain in power, or allow Labour to return, then their failure also becomes our failure.
The Conservatives have never been in power in South Bermondsey, and therefore they cannot be blamed for the results of the council. Surely it must be time to let the Conservatives demonstrate that they provide superb services and value and they are doing to council residents across the UK?
