Bermondsey & Old Southwark Volunteers

BOSVO was set up with a very simple philosophy; help those we can by using the skills and time of people who would like to volunteer their time, skills and experience.

For example, there will be pensioners who need to have a door or room painted. There may be a pensioner who has a problem with an bathroom overflow that won't stop stop and is annoying the the neighbours, but they can't do the work themselves.

There are people who have painting and plumbing skills and time to carry out the work the pensioners need, and these people are willing to volunteer their skills and time to help others.

There are Tenants' & Residents' Associations that want to change their estate, but can't do it all themselves or can't get the council or housing association to act for them. BOSVA want to work with the T&RA to meet their need on the estate.

The above are just examples, but will give you an idea of what we aim to achieve in the community.
